Azure to Git by

• Run the git config --global --add safe.directory ... command shown above to fix the security error.
• Run the two git config --global user... commands to set your GitHub identity.
• Run git add . (with the space!) to stage your files.

Step 4 — Prevent accidentally creating branches again:

On GitHub, go to Settings → Branches and set main as the default branch if it isn't already. That way git push without specifying a branch always targets main.
